In 2009, after a long and successful career developing and establishing public education and safety awareness programs in the First Responder industry with federal, state, and local government agencies, NGOs, non-profit and corporate organizations and other grass-roots agencies, Paul Schwen found the opportunity to segue into the medical field.
Using business, communication, and research skills developed over the previous 25 years while working in public affairs, Paul helped to establish and develop NewLife™ Laser Treatment Centers, an affiliate network organization of like-minded physicians with the goal of advancing successful laser therapy treatments in hospitals, private medical practices, and veterinary clinics.
After two years with NewLife™, Paul accepted an offer to work for the country’s largest medical laser manufacturer in Salt Lake City, UT, collaborating with engineers to develop and manufacturer better, more effective therapeutic and surgical laser devices. Through his work at CAO Group, Paul was able to gain a comprehensive and detailed understanding of the physics of energy/tissue interactions (photomedicine) and the science of photobiomodulation therapy from some of the best engineers and scientists in the laser industry.
After two years with CAO Group, Paul decided to co-establish a wholesale medical and veterinary laser distributorship called Diowave™ Lasers, and over the next several years sold lasers to, and professionally trained hundreds of physicians of all types in medical lasers for surgery and therapy, with an emphasis on dual-use lasers for surgery and therapy in veterinary medicine.
After several successful years with Diowave, Paul then co-founded Aspen Lasers™ with a Diowave partner. While with Aspen Lasers, Paul developed many unique and highly effective protocols for laser practitioners in human therapeutic use (particularly treatment of autoimmune disorders) and expanded his research and education credentials by creating and serving as the Executive Director of the MedLaser™ Foundation.
The Medlaser Foundation is uniquely dedicated to clinical research into the benefits of photobiomodulation and clinical education (sharing knowledge gain with physicians of all kinds by offering education and certification).
Moving on from Aspen Lasers, Paul founded Advanced Medical Distributors™, a company dedicated to advancing the mission of the MedLaser Foundation by selling the highest quality and most affordable lasers in the industry, e.g., those offered by Medray™ Lasers.
To date Paul has sold hundreds of medical lasers for a wide variety of uses and trained and certified hundreds of physicians and clinical staff members in the proper and effective application of laser therapy treatments. Paul has also developed a complete library of therapeutic laser protocols that are preprogrammed into several therapy laser brands and used by hundreds of medical practitioners nationwide.
Most recently, Paul has developed the most comprehensive photomedicine (Laser Therapy) Training Program available. This program, available to all laser therapy practitioners no matter what brand laser they utilize, will soon be available with full, recognized certification on the ICEU (Innovative CEUs) Continuing Education website (https://iceu.com/), and will offer continuing education credits to all healthcare professionals.
Paul’s knowledge of applicable physics of photomedicine and development of successful therapeutic protocols, and his ability and willingness to share what he has learned and developed with laser therapy practitioners nationwide, has made him invaluable to the healthcare industry and particularly to pain sufferers and others in need.
